You’ve whispered to the moon. Lit candles in quiet rooms. Felt the pull of something ancient and wild and real...
But you haven’t told anyone. Not yet. Maybe not ever. And that’s okay.
Coming out of the broom closet—letting others know you practice a non-traditional spiritual path like Wicca, Hoodoo, ancestral religion, or Buddhist rituals—is one of the most personal journeys you’ll ever take. And just like your craft, it doesn’t follow anyone else’s timeline but yours.
๐ฟ First, You Come Out to Yourself
Before you can share your path with the world, you have to make peace with it in your own heart. That means letting go of fear, shame, and years of conditioning that told you your magic was “wrong.”
And that can take time. A lot of time.
So give yourself grace. Honor the process. And know that being “out” isn’t required to be real.
๐ฎ How Do You Know You Might Be Ready for "Coming Out Day"?
Here are a few signs you may be nearing that moment of sharing:
You’ve stopped apologizing for your path in your own thoughts
You feel inspired when others share their spiritual truth
You’re more curious than afraid about reactions
You crave connection—but without needing permission
You trust your own discernment above outside approval
๐ก️ Not Everyone Deserves to Know About Your "Coming Out Day"
Some people will be supportive. Some won’t.
It’s not your job to make them comfortable. It’s your job to stay safe—emotionally, mentally, spiritually. That means trusting your intuition about who’s earned the right to know this part of you. And if no one has yet, that’s okay too.
Some may never understand. You’re not here to explain. You’re here to be.
๐ Keep Your Sacred Space and Your "Coming Out Day" Sacred
If you feel the need to keep your altar private, do it. If you only share your rituals with plants and spirits, that’s enough. If your spiritual path lives in journals and prayers only you see, that’s still real. Still worthy. Still magic.
Coming out of the broom closet isn’t about declaring. It’s about becoming. And you’re doing that—right now.
Your pace is perfect. Your path is yours. Your "Coming Out Day" and who you choose to come out to is personal. You don’t have to light your truth for the world. Just keep it lit for you.
